WE ARE UNANIMOUS IN RECOGNIZING AND REWARDING EXCEPTIONAL SPORTSMEN/WOMEN AND CONTRIBUTORS TO SPORTS DEVELOPMENT
– NIS DIRECTOR
While welcoming guests to the gala nite and awards ceremony at the NIS Silver Jubilee, Kingdom Eke, Director/C.E.O of the institute disclosed that the decision to recognize and reward deserving individual sportsmen and women as well as brands, companies and personalities who support sports development was unanimous.
I am extremely pleased to welcome you all to this great occasion of national institute for sports 7th convocation/silver jubilee ceremony, particularly this event: award/gala night. Again, may i re-echo the fact that this year’s convocation is quite unique, interesting and likely to be most memorable too, because as we mark the convocation, we also celebrate our silver jubilee. That is the year we obtained our legal mandate of operation (not of existence). Therefore, i urge you all to be part of this epoch making event in the annals of the history of national institute for sports.
Distinguish guests, ladies and gentlemen, we have assembled here again, after the wonderful and exciting lecture and discourse therein we had earlier today. The purpose of this event is basically to recognize and honour men and women as well as organizations that have carved a niche for themselves through either their selfless services to sports growth and development or feat accomplished in the realm of sports and indeed being a partner in progress with the institute. Consequently, the leadership of the national institute for sports through the express consent of the governing council upholds the decision to recognize these achievements by bestowing them with awards.
On behalf of the institute, i would like to welcome you all to this award/gala night. Wishing you all a warm and pleasant evening. Please, note that you are kindly invited to the grand-finale tomorrow (convocation ceremony).
Thank you and god bless.
Dr. Kingdom Chukwudi Eke
Director/CEO, National Institute For Sports
